Skyrim's Special Edition recaptures and beautifies the original game, but leaves a lot of room for an even-more-special edition down the road. Graphics-wise, the game uses the same temporal AA solution utilised on the 1080p PS4 version, which removes almost all aliased surfaces, making for a very sharp and clean presentation. Unfortunately, as Digital Foundry analysis reveals, performance isn't great. Skyrim: Special Edition is among the few games that mange to render at a full 3840x2160 4K resolution on PS4 Pro. The PlayStation 4 Pro version of Skyrim: Special Edition should please those looking for the best-looking Skyrim on current-gen consoles, but not the ones sensitive to frame-rate drops.
