Helm should ideally be dex/chc/impale damage. Regardless of how low the dex was on that chest, even if it was a 550 natural roll, I would have rolled life regen to vit. There aren’t really any cases where it’s worth rolling mainstat higher on a piece, just take whatever the natural roll is and roll one of the other stats. Obviously higher dex is better, but the difference between 550 and 650 dex is pretty small. Rolling the dex higher on your shadow chest was a mistake. At the end, you’ve got an item with the best CDR that rolled, or just a “Sorry, Dude” message. Choose the stat you’d like to get, choose how many rolls you’re willing to attempt, and it will run through the math quickly. I’d really like for them to do something like that with enchanting items. So you start the gem creation and go to lunch. I don’t think you actually had to click for each gem, but if you wanted to upgrade 30 gems, it’d take 30 times as long as it would for one gem. I remember in the earlier days of the game, you could only upgrade one gem at a time. But OMG it’s so tedious! I just don’t think I have it in me to sit around that long. If it took 70 tries with only 9 possibilities, what’s it going to take with 28? So I’m wondering if it’s worth even trying. I can reroll one of the stats, but there are 28 possibilities, and VIT is one of them.
So this brings me to the Holy Point Shot. Sure, I’d expect that VIT and DEX are going to come up most, but 70 tries before the first CDR result? But there were only 9 possibly things that could have rolled. Fortunately, I got a ‘9’, so I’ll be happy with that. The thing is, I just did the same thing with my Karlei’s Point, and it took over 70 attempts before I got my first Reduce Cooldown. It’s similar in stats to my current one, but since I’m leaning more toward CDR, that’s what I’d like to try for. Another CDR question… I just got another ancient Holy Point Shot quiver from Kadala.
